Your Hickory Hills, Il Chiropractor: Dr. Linda Ehlers

My Background and Education

A native of Thornton, Illinois, a tiny town about 30 miles south of Chicago, I graduated from Northern Illinois University (DeKalb), with a bachelors' degree and then completed my Doctorate at National College of Chiropractic (now National University of the Health Sciences) in Lombard, Illinois in September 1982 and opened my practice in March 1983.

I have advanced degrees in Pain Management (DAAPM), diagnosis and internal disorders (DDID), and in treating drug addiction (CAP).

Chiropractic Objectives

As a Chiropractic Physician I know how to decrease pain, increase movement, bring back function, and restore the bodys physical and nutritional balance.

I do this using natural means: nutritional supplements (vitamins, minerals and herbs), chiropractic adjustments, massage, and acupuncture. My patients have benn helped with everything from high cholesterol to headaches, GERD to constipation problems, joint problems to addictions (especially nicotine and alcohol) and stress.

More About Me

I also have been active in the Hickory Hills Chamber of Commerce since opening the practice and have served in many positions including President. In 1995 I received the Chamber's Outstanding Leadership Award. I am active in my local community and region, and was a member of the Citizen's Advisory Committee for CMAP (Chicago Metropolitan Area Planning Commission).

I have been on the faculty of the American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders (ACACD) since 1985. I have taught classes for the ACACD all over the United States and Canada on neurochemistry and drug addiction. I regularly pursue advanced training in my field and earn at least 50 hours of Continuing Medical Education to maintain my Illinois license.

An avid reader, I am also an amatuer gardener and classical guitar player.  I currently perform with the Chicago Classical Guitar Ensemble from the VanderCook College of Music.
